All engine building is undertaken in house.
Where outsourced work is required, such as head skimming or boring, we provide our chosen supplier with a complete brief and instructions, based on client conversation and our advanced Engine Calculations for Optimisation, to ensure the specification. All third party work is checked and inspected prior to assembly.
Our ‘trace accountability’ means you can be confident of a first time fit.

Full Blue Printing Service
This is the practice of setting the engine up to comply with the specification as laid down by the series/championship to ensure ‘non-disqualification’ in the event it is selected for scrutiny whilst achieving the best output from the engine.
The skill is in applying the best combination of settings to achieve compliance whilst maintain maximum performance.

Bespoke Modifications
Our engineering prowess has been utilised by many innovative clients wishing to enhance their engines as often there are no ‘off the self solution’ for what they wish to achieve. However we don’t let small details like that stop us as ‘bespoke solution’ are always available if you know what you are doing ... and we do!.

Digital Test and Measuring Equipment
You may have the most sophisticated engine and chassis, however if tolerances are poorly adjusted the vehicle will never perform to its full potential.
We have heavily invested in the latest Digital Testing and Measuring Equipment to make sure your vehicle is always set to its optimum.
Carburettor Setting and Rebuilding Facility
Fuelling is key to a well running classic and a well balanced and maintained carburettor will not only increase your fuel efficiency but should also obtain the Stoichiometric ratio for optimum air fuel performance.
Our service and rebuild facility is all done in house using dedicated equipment including on engine balancing using a syncrometer.
Engine Electronics
Stand Alone Management Systems
Once we have established what a system needs to deliver in terms of functionality and budget we will advise you of the best options. ECU’s are ordered to requirements but normally available promptly and fitting/configuration is all done in house using the latest software.
Aftermarket Fuel and Ignition Systems
We supply a range of complete systems and replacement units for vehicles if you are already considering conversation from Carburettor to Fuel injection or the installation of electronic ignition.
General Diagnostics
Our wide range of equipment for everyday testing and diagnostics allows us to perform complex tasks with very little stress. Whether it a compression test on a rotary engine to an oil pressure test on a V8 we can perform all this in house.

Our advanced diagnostics facilities means that you can rest assured we will fault find your problem effectively and efficiently. We have installed some of the industry's leading technology into our workshop, and as technology is a never ending development we too understand that our equipment and skills need to constantly be brought upto date in this ever evolving world. Emissions Testing
Using our 4 Gas Analyser system which we have in two versions - workshop static machine and a fully portable handheld device for trackside support, we can quickly see how effectively the engine as a whole package is performing. This allows us a great window into potential issues or just re-assurance that all is well. Gas analysing is the most over looked diagnostic check, yet it is still one of the most important.
ECM and ECU Interrogation
Whether you have a factory fitted ECM/ECU or an after market unit requiring laptop interaction we can carryout the required tasks to interrogate the data, read and clear fault codes and memory, programme new modules or replacement parts and much more. For European road vehicles we have dedicated devices allowing a thorough examination of the onboard systems and service parameters.
Japanese and Grey Import Vehicles
These vehicles cause difficulty to the general repair shops, not because they are out of this world, simply because they do not understand them and their systems. In our workshop we can cater for these imported vehicles just as if they were a European vehicle using our dedicate Japanese vehicle software and equipment which is specifically tailored not only for imports, but all Japanese derived vehicles. So not only do we understand the Japanese vehicles, type codes and engine codes, but we have the right equipment for the job too.
Oscilloscope Diagnostics
For extreme fault finding or component testing and verification we use our very own multi channel oscilloscope. This kind of technology is more akin to an electronics engineer, but as the automotive world embraces more technology then so do we at RSR. This device is manufactured to cutting edge standards and allows us to not only look at electrical signals and waveforms, but even the digital code signal going to and from components in the later CAN equipped vehicles. This device puts an amazing amount of power in the hands of the user as no job is too big for it.
